Term 5 – Walking Like an Egyptian 2019
We are now over half way through the year – what a great year so far, with plenty of fantastic learning still to come!
Our topic this term is ‘Walking like an Egyptian’. As we head towards Year 6 the expectations of the children will continue to increase to help them develop into the type of Year 6 that the school will be proud of. I expect children to bring both reading record and home/school link books into class every day to show that they have read to an adult. Children will also need to have their PE kits in school every day, for as the weather gets warmer there may be times when we take them outside to do more active learning and they will need their kits. During school time I would expect that, unless there is a medical problem that the school is aware of, all children should be able to use the toilets at break and lunchtimes rather than during the lessons losing valuable learning time. As the weather gets hotter the children are welcome to bring in named water bottles which will stay by the sink in class during the day. If your child does not have a bottle or forgets their bottle there will always be cups in class for them to use. I look forward to an exciting term that will end with the Yr 5 play – more information to follow later in the term.
