The Government has announced that all primary school pupils are expected to attend school full-time from September. At Amesbury CE Primary School, we have adapted the extensive safety measures we had already adopted as part of our wider reopening to pupils in Reception, Year 1, Year 6, vulnerable pupils and children of key workers so that all of our pupils can return to school safely for the Autumn Term.
We recognise that some of the measures we have put in place may take some time for our families to get used to, in particular the changes to the morning and home time routines. We want to ensure that all members of our school family are safe during this time and we are grateful for the support of parents as we have put necessary safety precautions in place, in particular the changes to entrance and exit points at the start and end of the school day.
The information on this page outlines the school's position on the adjustments to the normal school operation look like. These procedures and routines are subject to change at short notice in response to National and Local Authority guidance.
The school will endeavour to communicate any changes to the intended offer at the earliest possible opportunity. If you have any questions or require assisstance in complying with these measures please do not hesitate to contact us.

What should my child wear to school?
Pupils should adhere to the school uniform policy: burgundy jumper with school logo, grey trousers/skirt, white collared shirt with a tie or white polo shirt without a tie, girls may choose to wear summer dresses on warmer days, hair accessories should be simple and match school colours - oversized or brightly coloured hair accessories are not permitted).
There is no expectation that school clothes will be changed or washed more frequently than normal.
Pupils should attend school wearing correct P.E. kit on their specified P.E. days: burgundy t-shirt, plain black shorts/jogging bottoms, plain black sweatshirt or school jumper, suitable trainers.
Pupils will complete all activities in the clothes that they have worn to school that day, including P.E.
Where do I drop off and pick up my child?
Each year group of pupils has an allocated zone and separate drop-off and pick up point. Please make a note of your child's zone/entrance. There will be a member of staff at each entrance to direct you or take messages for class teachers.
YEAR 1 & RECEPTION - PINK ZONE – the side gate on School Lane
YEAR 2 - RED ZONE – Main school gate on Kitchener Road
YEAR 3 - BLUE ZONE - New Hall entrance on Coldharbour
YEAR 4 - BLUE ZONE - Playground gate entrance via Coldharbour carpark pedestrian gate
YEAR 5 - ORANGE ZONE - Staff carpark gate on Kitchener Road (entrance closest to Smiley Face Nursery)
YEAR 6 - ORANGE ZONE – Drop off lay-by on Kitchener Road, pedestrian access only (Year 6 children)
If you have more than one child and they have been allocated bubbles in different zones, you should drop off the youngest sibling first then make your way to next drop off point for the next child. Siblings will not be permitted to enter through the same entrance if they are in different zones.
Please adhere to the 2m social distancing markers whilst you wait.
We thank parents for their patience during drop-off/pick times as we take these necessary safety precautions.
